Rainbow books

It is my turn to host book club this evening so I thought why not post my 'books by colour' collection. I am not sure why but this look has come up in a number of different magazines I read - is it a trend - not sure. I love books in a room but and like everything else in life, it takes a little bit of work and ongoing attention to keep them looking good.

I am really enjoying Little Green Notebook at the moment which is where I got these shots from. These divinely decorated classics would give any bookshelf a major facelift.

Mollerlamporna

These lampshades are Mollerlamporna by Kicki Moller who is based in Stockholm. I am an avid Desire to Inspire reader and it was through one of their recent reading lists that I found Design Shimmer and these shades. The lacy shades are a little bit knickerish but pretty all the same and I particularly like the minty green one and the cream shade beside it.

One-offs

I love anything I could describe as 'upholstery with a twist'. Half the tear sheets in my 'folder of ideas' are like this one - classic pieces of furniture made special with a little imaginative upholstery. Also, if you did reupholster something in this way you could be confident that your piece is completely unique !

Green week

I am still painting little colour chips for my design course - but have moved along to greens so its seemed timely to share these lovely green bathrooms. Completely unrelated but very similar in approach making the most of the lovely big windows.

Pols Potten

This beautiful chair is from Pols Potten in the Netherlands. I would love to visit their shop and warehouse. The Pols Potten catalogue online www.polspotten.nl is bursting with fabulousness. Sadly the dining chair page has a note at the bottom saying 'not available in Australia'.

Mantle material

I was reading an interesting piece on styling side tables a few days ago here on Hooked on Houses and then came across this beautiful print from Bold & Noble which would be perfect for one of my neglected and severely unstyled side tables. This is Gingko in Warm Stone. Bold&Noble have some lovely things including a very stylish childrens range which I will add here soon.

Hare Chair

This is the Coral chair designed by Ton Haas and produced by Hare Chair. Its a hi-tech lightweight stackable plastic chair for indoors and out - and doesnt it look great ? Apparently it was also designed with affordability in mind but as its probably more a contract item I havent been able to find a retail price online. Its certainly a step up from most plastic outdoor chairs.
